Solidariti is hosting the carnival of nonprofit consultants this week. We didn't have many entries this week due to Independence Day in the US, but here's two really interesting submissions that both feature mobile communications for non-profits:
- The Government’s A-Twitter: Comprehensive List of Government Twitter Feeds on Alexandra Rampy's Social Butterfly blog
- Cell Phone Fundraising in Action on Paul Jones's Cause-Related Marketing blog

It seems to me that some ways of communicating electronically with supporters are much more effective than others in that they encourage more donations and more feedback than others. Here's my choice of posts for the carnival this week ... they all discuss methods of communicating with supporters:
- Weaving Text and Video into a “YouTube Storyboard" ... Colin Delany from Epolitics tells us about a recent project creating a YouTube video from soundbites, text and images.
- How to use MySpace to drive new activists and donors: An interview with Tim Fullerton of Oxfam America ... Soha El-Borno from Wild Apricot finds out some tips about using MySpace.
- Annual Report Show-Down: Who Is More Convincing? ... Kivi Miller from Nonprofit Communications examines what makes a good annual report, which of course is one of the most important communication channels with supporters.
- How to Keep Your Gen Y Nonprofit Employee ... Rosetta Thurman from From The Pipeline suggests how we can keep our Gen Y employees motivated. The same goes for our Gen Y volunteers who are usually passionate supporters of whatever cause they are volunteering for.
- High tech, high touch - the power of blogs ... Sherri Garrity from Make It Count on blogs and how they can be used to communicate with your supporters.
- 2 audiences? 2 podcasts. Don't water down your message ... David Brazeal from JournaMarketing shares a couple of podcasting tips for non-profits
- Blog posting - Remarkable in 4 Minutes ... Sam Davidson from CoolPeopleCare suggests how organisations can be remarkable

I am hosting the carnival of nonprofit consultants next week. I'll select seven of the most interesting posts submitted, however preference will be given to posts with a focus on conversations between not-for-profit organisations and supporters.
The carnival is a collection of the best advice and resources that consultants and other support organisations are offering to nonprofits through their blogs each week.
If you write a post this week that might be of interest to non-profits, please submit it before 10am Sunday AEST (1am Sunday GMT, 8pm Saturday AET). I will post the top seven posts from the week by Aussie Tuesday.

Solidariti is hosting the carnival of nonprofit consultants this week. Below is my pick of the most interesting submissions received from last week:
- Branding Supporters’ Desktops: A Widget for Campaigns ... Colin Delany recommends campaigners consider Active Access to promote their campaigns on desktops, on his e.politics blog
- How to use Google Analytics to track your top blog posts ... Soha El-Borno has put together an excellent set of instructions on using Google Analytics effectively, on her Wild Apricot blog
- How to use details to motivate ... Jeff Brooks reminds us that supporters want to know about the details, on his donor power blog
- More Bang for Your Nonprofit's Buck -- Bring Your Print Ads to E-News Readers ... Nancy E. Schwartz writes about reminding your supporters online about your offline advertising, in her Getting Attention blog
- Avatar-based Marketing ... Maryann Devine writes about marketing in virtual worlds like Second Life, on her smArts & Culture blog
That's the end of the official Carnival for this week. However, while I'm linking to other blogs, here's some great blog posts I've read this week that I think you'll appreciate:
- When Campaign 2.0 Met Citizen 2.0: A Confusing Love Story ... a must-read piece on sticking with your online social networking strategy, by Alan Rosenblatt on NTEN
- Activist donors demand more proof ... another post from Jeff Brooks on his donor power blog, this time about activists increasingly wanting proof that their giving is accomplishing their goals
- How to make a million dollars ... great advice that could apply to fundraising, from Seth Godin

As mentioned last week, Solidariti is hosting the carnival of nonprofit consultants this week. Below is my pick of the top submissions received from last week:
- Here's your point of connection -- sell the issue, then your organization ... from Nancy Schwartz's Getting Attention blog
- 15 places to find article ideas for your nonprofit newsletter ... from Kivi Miller's Nonprofit Communications blog
- Asking for money online: what works? ... from Katya Andresen's Non-profit Marketing blog
- Don't use no bad English ... from Jeff Brooks's Donor Power blog
- Local Toyota Service Centers and Weber State Automotive Training Programs ... from Paul Jones's Cause-Related Marketing blog
I think the Carnival usually features posts from a pool of submissions, plus the host. Can I break the rules? I'm going to anyway (nothing new from me there, then). I think this one deserves a mention:
- Colin Delany has posted an article on his e.politics blog: "Examining the Complexities of Activism in Second Life", which points to Josh Levy's Social change in Second Life ... "a machinima documentary about how real-world activists are using the virtual world Second Life as a platform for social and political activism".
Keep track of the Carnival of Nonprofit Consultants, no matter which blog is hosting, by subscribing to the Carnival feed.
